Amazing Clients

I have to say that I truly love my job. Sometimes working with the public can be difficult, but so can plumbing or welding.

I get to work with so many different personalities it is great. I have the ability to take a situation from dire to great in a relatively short period of time.

Granted, people usually call me and see me when they are mad, upset, ready to throw their equipment out the window, or worse at me. But with a little TLC and relaxed tones, I can calm them down, figure out what the issue is and make them happy…most of the time anyway. Let’s face it, can’t please everyone 🙂

So remember, what goes around, comes around. Be treated as you want to be treated and you will reap the benefits. May not be an immediate return, may take years, but it is all worth it in the end. Honesty , integrity and hard work makes all the difference.

I have had the opportunity to make a service call to a new client that found me on Home Advisor

They had some of the most amazing things to say about me and I had to share. I was very humbled by the email I received from Todd when he sent me the below message and stated that he posted this as a review on Home Advisor for me.

Trying to find a turntable today is not that hard, but I am a geek and needed an easy way to get a record to MP3 and this was very simple with this unit…love it

Dirty Winsocks

I had problems connecting to the backup server, would not authenticate or create a proper token(security). After a ton of research and troubleshooting, I also noticed Windows Update Service was crashing. This led me to believe there was an issue with packet loss or a network issue I was not seeing.
One of my favorite phrases I tell all my clients is, “If at first it does not work, REBOOT” In this case, restart socket connections. And what do you know, it finally worked and fixed a few other small issues. But backup and Windows Update is all working again.

How to remove Windows 10 upgrade updates in Windows 7 and 8

Microsoft has shipped Windows 10 and with it comes an offer to upgrade existing versions of Windows to the operating system for free.
Since the majority of Windows users probably does not know about that offer as they may not read tech sites at all or only sporadically, Microsoft pushed updates to Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems that prepare the system for the update.
At least one of the updates, KB 3035583, appears to have been designed to advertise Windows 10 once it comes out.

Get ready for organized cybercrime

A new post from security blogger Brian Krebs has focused attention on a growing trend in the cybercrime underground: cooperation. It’s not like regular organized crime, in which physically localized gangs can dominate a local underworld, but a crowd-based system of skills-sharing that could end up being far, far more dangerous.
